Where to travel in 2012 - the winner is Iceland according to Lonely Planet and National Geographic

 
Have you already booked your ticket to Iceland? If not then you are missing out some heavy weights in the travel worlds say. The travel destination in 2012 is Iceland!

Let’s kick off with Lonely Planet. The country result of their Best in Travel Readers’ choice awards 2012 is Iceland and the winning city is Reykjavik. The reasons: active volcanos and cheaper than usual (for foreigners). We are of course thrilled with these results!
 
National Geographer has their own list they call Best of the World 2012 and Iceland is on it! The reasons are among other things that it is considered more affordable to travelers. We agree. :)
 
Then there was the Sunday Times Travel Magazine naming Iceland as Best Adventure Travel Destination in 2012.
